Each week, we share a devotional written by one of our partners. This week’s devotional was written by Lance Lawshe.
“Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.” Hebrews 4:16 (NASB)
Reading this piece of scripture that is often quoted, I realized that our children have an edge on obtaining the grace of God. They are often so fearless to their approach in attaining their desires. Children don’t even think that they are asking too much. Just the other week my son asked me without hesitation, without any hint of apprehension, if he could go to China for vacation. I mean he didn’t even blink an eye. Because the Lord is our Heavenly Father, we can speak to Him freely and with confidence.
Are we praying with a boldness that God desires? What keeps us from praying vulnerably before the Lord? Let’s take time to reflect on how often we spend consistent time in prayer.
This week, let’s be sure we spend unhurried time in prayer with the Lord each day. We can speak to the Lord openly and with humble hearts, knowing that He hears us.
Lord, help us to better understand that we can come to You without hesitation. We can approach You with courage knowing You will show mercy and will forgive us of all our sins. Help us to recognize that You are the all-powerful God. You love us enough to show us grace even though we don’t deserve it. Amen.
