“In You, O Lord, I have taken refuge; Let me never be ashamed. In your righteousness deliver me and rescue me; Incline Your ear to me and save me. Be to me a rock of habitation to which I may continually come; You have given commandment to save me, For You are my rock and my fortress. Rescue me, O my God, out of the hand of the wicked, Out of the grasp of the wrongdoer and ruthless man. For you are my hope; O Lord God, You are my confidence from my youth.” – Psalm 71: 1-5 (NASB)
Just like so many others, I’ve faced countless tribulations and hardships in life. When I was younger I would often turn to the wrong people or activities for comfort and consolation. Instead of turning the other cheek, I would often seek retribution by my own hand. It wasn’t until I accepted Christ into my life that I understood that God is my foundation. In times of heartache and pain, He is my support. The Reflection
When should I take my problems to God in prayer? Am I allowing God to be the one I lean on in times of hardship? In what areas of my life do I need to ask God for his mercy and grace?
This week ask God to protect you against your enemies. Trust in the Lord and remember that while you are in his hand, no one can pull you from it.
Heavenly Father, I pray that You will give me the understanding that I can bring my pain and hardship to you and that by Your will, all things are possible. Lord, give me comfort when I am low and place Your hand of protection on me and my household in all areas of life.
