Each week, we present the inspirational words of one of our partners in the form of a devotional.  This week’s devotional entry was called “No Shame” and was written by Danielle Riddick.  Be blessed!
The Word:
“For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes…” Romans 1:16

The Story:
Often times, radical truths come from the unassuming minds of children. I am a teacher, and one of the joys of this profession is being able to hear these truths from my students. Recently, the school counselor came into my classroom and conducted an activity to get to know the children better. She asked them various questions. One of the questions was, “Who is the greatest superhero?” One boy confidently, and warmly responded, “God.” When the counselor asked why, the child said, “Because He died for us.” His responses floored me! I was amazed at how confidently he spoke about Jesus. As I was reflecting on how clearly this young boy told us about his relationship with God, I thought to myself, “How often am I speaking about who my Savior is and the immensity of His goodness?” I realized the tremendous power in knowing who God is and confessing this fearlessly and wholeheartedly. Each time I speak confidently about my relationship with God, it creates an opportunity for others to learn of His goodness and claim it for themselves.

The Reflection:
When was the last time you openly spoke about Jesus in the place where you spend the most time? How do you feel about sharing your love for the Lord with others? As Christ followers, it is our duty to fearlessly spread our knowledge about God to others.

The Application:
Often times as adults, we shy from speaking about Jesus for fear of ridicule. Let us follow the example of my student and boldly and frequently tell others who God is and what He has done.

The Prayer:
Jesus, You are the true and living Savior! Please help Your people confidently tell the world about You every day, and at every chance we get. Amen!
