Each and every week, we like to share a devotional that was written by one of our partners!  The devotional for this week was written by Jennifer Moore. The title of it is, “No Worries.”The Word:
“For this reason I say to you, do not be worried about your life, as to what you will eat or what you will drink; nor for your body, as to what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing?…And who of you by being worried can add a single hour to his life?” Matthew 6:25, 6:27 (NASB)

The Story:
I come from a long line of worriers. My grandmother worries, my mother worries, and it even seems as though my dog worries. Somehow, I thought that worrying about something enabled me to control the outcome. I also falsely believed that if I didn’t worry, I didn’t care. Since accepting Christ as my Savior, I have learned that worrying only indicates a lack of trust in Him. God knows every outcome, although He may only reveal a part of it to me. I don’t need to worry because the Lord comes through each and every time!

The Application:
I will consistently give my worries to God. I am going to trust in the Lord and what He has planned. He is my Heavenly Father, my Provider, my Friend, my Savior, and my Healer. I am confident that God will work it out!

The Reflection:
Do we always take our worries to God in prayer? What are the triggers and underlying issues that cause us to worry? What keeps us from depending on God to handle every difficult issue in our lives? As we spend time deepening our relationships with Christ through prayer and reading the Bible, we will begin to instinctively turn to God with our worries.

The Prayer:
Lord, I give all of my worries to you. You already know the outcome of every situation, and I praise Your name no matter what happens. Lord, give me strength and peace so that I may use the time and effort usually wasted on worrying to glorify Your Holy Name. Amen.
