Each week, we share some words of reflection written by one of our partners in the form of a devotional. This week we present a devotional by Danielle Riddick.

The Word:
“And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that always having all sufficiency in everything, you may have an abundance for every good deed.” 2 Corinthians 9:8 (NASB)

The Story:
I’ve always valued my desire to undertake tasks.  I thought I was trusting the Lord’s grace in guiding me through what needed to get done. However, I found myself working to achieve perfection instead of doing my best and believing in God to handle the rest. The Lord has helped me recognize the error in me choosing to not trust in God’s Word and believe that I can control the temperature of my life. Every day, it is amazing to witness how His loving grace offers protection, redemption, and comfort. God is so gracious, and tenderly helped me realize that His grace is my sustaining strength and success.

The Reflection:
How often are we choosing to believe that our efforts alone govern our lives? How are we spending time daily acknowledging and appreciating God’s grace? In what areas are we struggling to release control and trust in Jesus to guide our paths?

The Application:
This week, let us place special focus on thanking the Lord for all the ways He provides us with grace every day. As we spend time showing gratitude, let’s continue to trust that God will provide the grace we need to accomplish His purposes in our lives.

The Prayer:
Lord, please forgive us for when we choose to believe that Your grace is not sufficient. Help us to recognize that You love us dearly, and daily provide us with Your grace. We pray that we would humbly trust in You alone. Amen.
