Many of us are held in bondage by our finances. Whether poor financial management is a trait we observed in our parents or a habit we developed on our own, we must abandon the idol of money and give God exclusive rights to our lives. Know that there’s hope because God has given us a way to break financial curses.
4 Steps to Breaking a Financial Curse
#1 – Make up in your mind that the curse ends with you. Be willing to take the risk.
The four leprous men decided they didn’t want to stay where they were and die (2 Kings 7:3).
#2 – Give God something to work with.
Take a leap of faith toward changing the situation. By taking action you show God that you trust Him.
The leprous men went out to face the enemy and God allowed them to scare the enemy by amplifying their sound (2 Kings 7:6).
#3 – Pass the Re-test
When the time comes, God will let you re-take your “original test” to confirm if you have truly changed. Remember, God won’t talk to you during the test; however, He will talk to you and guide you prior to the test. God wants to know that you trust Him.
God tested Gehazi and the other leprous men the same way He tested them the first time (2 Kings 7:8-9).
#4 – God’s timing is not our timing. Get on His schedule.
Everything must work according to God’s timing and not your own. While we wait, our only responsibility is to be obedient to God.
Gehazi had to wait seven years to be healed of his leprosy (2 Kings 8:1-3).

Take a leap of faith toward changing the situation. By taking action you show God that you trust Him.
