Each week, we present a devotional written by one of our partners here at One Community Church.  This week’s inspirational words were written by Brandi Harlin.  The name of her devotional is “Share Your Story.”  Be blessed!
The Word:
…He said to him, “Go home to your people and report to them what great things the Lord has done for you, and how He had mercy on you.” And he went away and began to proclaim in Decapolis what great things Jesus had done for him; and everyone was amazed. Mark 5:19-20 (NASB)

The Story:
A few months ago, I volunteered at a homeless shelter in Dallas. The kitchen manager was very humble and dedicated. He served in his position passionately and wholeheartedly. After we finished serving more than 800 meals, the kitchen manager shared his testimony. He said that he was once homeless and found his strength through prayer, and the food that was served to him when he stood on the other side of the line where we were now serving. He explained that he praised Jesus continuously for deliverance from those dire circumstances. The kitchen manager promised himself that once he got back on his feet, he would give back by telling others how God had completely transformed his life.

The Reflection:
Are we actively sharing our testimonies with others? If not, what is keeping us from doing so? Consider those who ministered to us, and how their accounts led us to knowledge of the Lord.

The Application:
Let us make a commitment today to share our testimonies with one person to show how God has blessed us. We never know how our stories can enhance someone else’s life.

The Prayer:
Lord, thank You for being with us through every stage of life. We pray that You strengthen us to fearlessly share the stories of how You have blessed each of us. Amen.
