Every week, we present a devotional that was written by one of our partners. This week’s inspirational words is from E. Earl Davis II.The Word:
“If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, ask whatever you wish and it will be done for you.” John 15:7 (NASB)

The Story:
I was blessed with the opportunity to use the skills I’d obtained in my career to assist a church in their efforts to spread the Word of God. My spirit was energized like never before as my desire for this became clear. Unfortunately, I found that there was far less money in this work. Hesitant to answer what was surely my calling, I began to decay spiritually. This disobedience caused great strain on my life. The key to victory was found as I recognized that when I align my life with God’s will through obedience, anything is possible. It’s been two years since I resigned from my job. I have been and will be just fine as I continue to live according to God’s desires for my life.

The Reflection:
Are there areas in your life that you’ve shackled yourself with self-imposed limitations because of disobedience? What is keeping you from being obedient? Let us always strive to live according to God’s desires for us.

The Application:
Reading the Bible and spending unhurried time with the Lord teaches us how we should live. This week, pray that God would help us align our lives more with the instructions of the Bible.

The Prayer:
Lord, please free us of our disobedience so we can achieve what you have prepared for us to do. Help us to remember that as long as we live according to your Word, this allows room for your blessings in our lives. Amen.
