Complete and pass the Theological Entry Exam with 70% or higher
Participate in the interview with our licensure team
Submit all the program entrance requirements *see below requirements
Receive the final decision and placement into the current applicable cohort
Program Entrance Requirements
Applicants should meet the following requirements to apply for the School of Ministry:
Have maintained a personal relationship with Jesus Christ for at least three years
Demonstrate a clear calling to ministry
Receive a recommendation from an OCC pastor, ministry leader, or campus leader, depending on your cohort
Be an active One Community Church member for a minimum of 12 months
Be faithfully serving within an OCC ministry
Have the support and written agreement of their spouse, if married
Demonstrate prior ministry involvement or leadership experience
Leadership College is recommended but not required to join the School of Ministry
Recommendation Letters
Spring and Fall Cohorts Requires Three Letters of Recommendation:
- 1 OCC Pastoral (Campus Pastors, Pastoral Staff)
- 1 OCC Ministry Lead (Life Group Leaders, Discipleship Leaders)
- 1 Personal (Mentor, Friends, Spiritual Leader, Co-Workers, etc.)
Fast Track Cohort Requires Two Letters of Recommendation:
- 1 OCC Pastoral (Campus Pastors, Pastoral Staff)
- 1 OCC Ministry Lead (Life Group Leaders, Discipleship Leaders)

Required Assessments
Program Expectations
Participate in ongoing leadership development, training, and evaluation
Participate and/or Lead an OCC Life Group
Gain hands-on ministry experience by completing a ministry assignment during your time in the program
Consistently engage in weekly evangelism and outreach
Meet monthly with an assigned mentor for guidance and accountability
Teach ministry lessons with teaching team approval
Preach a sermon with teaching team approval
Maintain consistent attendance at weekly CORE meetings (Tuesdays) and in person class 1st, 2nd, and 4th Thursdays
Student Expectations
Complete all assigned courses and program requirements.
Review the Student Study Guide (SSG) before each class and come prepared to actively participate in discussions.
Understand that Student Study Guides are available exclusively to currently enrolled students.
Be prepared for occasional unannounced quizzes covering assigned course material.
Successfully complete the semester's oral final exam, which includes content from both class lectures and the Student Study Guides.
Maintain punctuality and consistent attendance. All absences and late arrivals must receive prior approval or be officially excused. Unexcused absences or tardiness are limited; Excessive absences will result in disciplinary action or dismissal of the program.
There is no tuition or registration fee to participate in the School of Ministry. Students are responsible only for purchasing the required textbooks and course materials.
