I Am Being Transformed
Written by Joshua B • Plano Campus
Scripture
Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me.
Psalm 51:10 ESV
There are seasons when life leaves us wondering if God can still redeem what has been lost. We may experience disappointment after disappointment—a loved one passes away, a promotion never comes, or we feel stuck while everyone else seems to be moving forward. In those moments, it is easy to believe the lie: “I’m done. This is something I can’t recover from.” David understood that feeling.
After his sin with Bathsheba, he could have hidden in shame or believed his failures had permanently disqualified him. Instead, he ran to God. He didn’t ask for a second chance based on his own efforts; he asked God to create a clean heart and renew him from the inside out. David knew that true transformation is God’s work, not ours. I remember walking through a season when I questioned what God was doing. I grieved the loss of loved ones, wrestled with doors that remained closed, and wondered if I would ever move forward.
Yet God continually reminded me that His grace and mercy are new every morning. He was not finished with my story. While my circumstances did not change overnight, He was changing me. He was renewing my heart, strengthening my faith, and teaching me to trust Him more deeply. If you find yourself in a similar season today, remember this truth: God is renewing your heart and transforming you from the inside out. As you rest in Him, He will continue His work of renewal, transformation, and restoration according to His perfect timing.
Prayer: Father, create in me a clean heart and renew a steadfast spirit within me. Help me trust You when I cannot see what You are doing. Thank You that Your grace is new every morning and that You are faithfully transforming and restoring me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
