Living in God’s Intercession!

Written by Freddie H · McKinney Campus

Scripture

And He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He intercedes for the saints according to the will of God. And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.

Romans 8:27-28 NASB

This passage of scripture vividly takes me back a few years ago, when my young family was walking through the terminal illness of my sweet wife. Prior to that journey, it had become very easy to conform to the busyness of the day-to-day grind without always prioritizing God first. As I look back, it is almost horrifying what I had allowed to become the normal, because that normal was not fully prioritizing God first.

I had an inert drive to take care of my family and provide as any man would/should do, but was I doing the other part in making sure He was in that number one spot in “everything” I do? Another way to look at verse 27 is to see how God redirected a busy heart that had gone off path and reset it back to a point where He could give me the chance to have a meaningful impact in the lives of others. The revelation of verse 28 was able to provide clarity and comfort. Placing Him first began to solidify what God was saying in my life as I began to really understand what trusting Him in a trial meant, and more importantly than anything, making sure HE always gets the glory in every situation. There truly is a comfort in giving it all to God and knowing that, no matter what the situation.

HE IS IN CONTROL! Be Blessed!
