Always There, Always Caring

Scripture
Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
Isaiah 41:10 ESV
During my career, I encountered two separate, extremely challenging, and burdensome situations in succession, each lasting about two years. In my thinking, I had to choose whether to please man and save my job or please God and lose it. Because I revered God more than I feared man or the outcome of my situations, I chose to stand for righteousness regardless of the outcome. My stance brought criticism, rejection, instability on the job, and retaliation. When the second episode occurred, Satan whispered, “God does not love you because if He did, He would not allow you to go through this a second time.”
I believed him, falling to my knees in tears, screaming at God, asking why He allowed this a second time. Suddenly, I heard a still small voice whisper, “Have you shed any blood for Me lately?” He repeated this question to me two more times. I then looked to Jesus, was humbled, felt the weight lifted off my shoulders, regained strength, and refocused my thinking. I was then able to persevere through both horrendous storms and saw God defeat my enemies and give me the victory.
I prayed, “Father, thank you for reminding and reassuring me that You love me and are with me at all times, even in the midst of trials, and that You alone determine the outcome of my situation.” I thanked the Holy Spirit for helping me to choose His will despite and over my fears (Psalms 34:17 ESV & Deuteronomy 31:8 ESV).
